Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 16, 2026

Lepera + Associates, PC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we may collect through our website and how we use, protect, and disclose that information.

Information We Collect

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, email address, phone number, and any other information you choose to share when you contact us or request information. If you use our AI assistant, we also collect the questions you submit and related technical information, as described in the AI Assistant section below.

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, provide legal services, improve our website, operate and improve our website's AI assistant, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to analyze website traffic and improve user experience. Our security provider, Cloudflare, may set a cookie to help protect the website from misuse. You can control cookie settings through your browser.

AI Assistant

Our website offers an optional “Ask a Question” assistant that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to answer general questions about our firm and practice areas. You do not need to sign in or provide contact information to use it. The assistant provides general information, not legal advice. Its answers may be incomplete or inaccurate, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Please do not enter confidential information or sensitive details about your legal matter. To discuss your situation, please request a consultation or call us at (415) 362-2529.

What is collected and how it is protected. Each question you ask and each answer the assistant provides is stored as a separate record. Records from the same conversation can be associated by a random conversation identifier. Before your question and earlier messages from the conversation are sent to the AI provider, recognizable email addresses, U.S. phone numbers, Social Security numbers written with dashes, and numbers 13 to 19 digits long are automatically redacted. Questions and answers are also redacted in the same way before they are stored in our database. You will continue to see your original messages and the assistant’s original responses in the chat window. This automatic redaction does not remove all personal information; names, addresses, medical details, and case facts, for example, may remain.

How answers are generated and where records are stored. The assistant uses the Lovable AI Gateway to access an AI model provided by OpenAI. Chat records are stored in a separate Lovable Cloud database hosted on Amazon Web Services in Northern Virginia, USA.

How we use chat records. We use chat records to answer your questions, limit misuse, measure how the assistant is used, and identify topics where our website could provide better information. We do not use chat records for advertising, and we do not sell them. The assistant contains no advertising or third-party analytics code.

Rate limiting. To prevent misuse, we use a pseudonymous network identifier that changes daily. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the assistant’s chat database.

Retention. Question and activity records are retained for 30 days, and aggregate counts of the topics asked about, which contain no conversation content, are retained for 90 days. Both are removed by automated daily cleanup. Information you submit through our consultation or contact forms is handled separately and is not subject to these retention periods.

Browser storage and cookies. Your conversation history is held temporarily in your browser’s session storage. A stored conversation is no longer used after 24 hours or once you close the browser tab. The assistant itself sets no cookies, although our security provider, Cloudflare, may set a security cookie.

Identifying chat records. Because the assistant does not collect names or contact information, chat records generally cannot be identified by a visitor’s name or contact information. Chat records are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites.
